i spy

I apologise for the extremely long absence on my part. I've either been consumed by work or buried under a mountain of school work. I'm literally either in my school uniform at the moment, running late for work in head to toe Country Road or dumping my bag as I get home and smearing my makeup off my face… therefore literally zero outfit posts have been taken. I'm working this weekend so i'll hopefully make it up to you guys - i'll try my hardest.

I've thrown myself into my school work at the moment to try and maximise the amount of work i'm getting done as the demand is at a constant increase.

Just as the weather began cooling down, it's back to miserable mugginess.

Right now i'm enjoying watching the Winter Olympics in Sochi, and reading about four books for school simultaneously.

watch out

Today was a day of hard work moving boxes into the new house as we're moving in around a week, and I go back to school in less than a week :( So today called for a casual get-up (well… as casual as I can get), with comfort and ease.

The print of my shorts had me dreaming of vacation as I ready myself for school next Wednesday. It's always a constant wish for just a few more weeks when it comes to the end of holidays.

looking up

I apologise for my demon child face but this photo was taken at my new house! New house  = new place for my OOTD photos haha and I really like this wood/brick combo on the deck in my yard. I also like how my new house has wood floors instead of the tiles that I swear every house I live in has… so yay for wood!

I took this image of #whatsinyourclutch for a comp for The Enabler but I really like how it turned out! It's a constant struggle to fit my essentials into a purse that goes in my hand but luckily i've narrowed it down to these bare necessities. The clutch featured is a 20 year old vintage Fendi that was my Mums (it had a short strap but I unbuckled it to turn it into a clutch) and i'm so blessed for her to give it to me.

I'm not going to lie, I should be doing school work right now.

SERVE THE PEOPLE

This is the teahouse at the gallery! How cute is it! Jay seems to like it.

Today was by far one of the best days i've had in a while.

I headed down with some of my best friends (Mad, Jay, Em, Nick and Josh) in my art class and our two beautiful art teachers to see the SERVE THE PEOPLE exhibit in the White Rabbit Gallery in Chippendale, Sydney. We had to write an essay on it last term so it was great to see the works after learning so much about them through a computer screen. The images i'd seen prior by no means conveyed the impressiveness of the work's magnitude and just shear quality and wow-factor.

My favourite works would have to be two of the works i've shown here - the textile and fabric work that brought a sort of tapestry to 3D life with amazing and mesmerising colour, and the room installation containing the miscellany of printed cards and the broken statue of Mao Ze Dong. These were just two of the amazing and impressive works.

It was great to be able to wander around the gallery, talking about the ever so daunting HSC and our possibilities however in such an inspiring and relaxing atmosphere.

If you're in the Chippendale area i'd highly recommend going to the exhibit as it's only got a few weeks left.

After the gallery we headed to a cute Chinese restaurant which was beautiful (and we may or may not have become VIP's while we were there - no biggie :P). The interior was gorgeous with blacks and browns and the food was even better! I also learnt how to use chopsticks properly! This was a big moment for me after failing to pick up my dumplings correctly my entire life haha

We then ended up down at the Rocks, strolling around and soaking up the sun on this beautiful Sydney day on the harbour.

All in all, it was a beautiful day - just what I needed to get my head away from my desk and out into the fresh air.

SIDE NOTE

I'm going to be starting a youtube channel, which will be featuring videos of me giving you guys ALL things fashion. However, my first video will be of some footage I shot today! So stay tuned and i'll be posting the link around everywhere once everything's sorted.

ruling a man's world

Hello Chickens! I'm currently experiencing a serious case of procrastination in reference to all of the study notes I have to make, hence why when my Mum asked me to go out for a lunch and a shop I jumped at the chance. The Schlieffen Plan just isn't interesting me at the moment unfortunately.

I've lately been feeling a little nostalgic over my Melbourne trip 2012, where little fifteen year old me experienced the tram line and lusted over Acne products. I've been scrolling through my photos from that time and everything was so perfect then. So, in order to feed my nostalgia without actually taking off to Melbourne… I rummaged through my wardrobe to find my Acne mens shirt that I bought in the Bourke St store. I've styled it here a little differently to I had at the time in the Melbourne autumn, due to the 30 degree heat I sweltered in today.

Regardless, today was lovely and well spent. After lunch at Sage, I didn't go overboard with purchases - but I did treat myself a tad. I picked up this Adidas tee that i've had on my mind for a while now. I also got the Windsor Smith Chunk's that i've been lusting over for ages so i'm definitely a happy camper at the moment.

(I've also featured a photo of my indestructible and loveable Nike freerun 2's that have stuck by me by supporting my soles for the last few months. I thought i'd show them a little love with a feature.)

white teeth teens

Happy Sunday!

I was beyond excited to put my new purchases to use for work today. This attire I think would have to be one of my new favourite outfits at the moment - it's so easy and comfy yet still so cool.

Now i'm home and ready to relax as I have the weekdays free - I must knuckle down on my school work and get a handle on what I have to do.

You can look forward to tomorrows Monday Inspiration post however i'm not sure whether i'll get a chance to post during the week.
